The 1750 Timber Frame Home (SOLD)

The 1750 Timber Frame Home is made from all reclaimed hand hewn timbers from a barn located in central Indiana. It was originally part of a much larger barn that had too many issues to be rebuilt as it was, so we reconfigured the beams to make this smaller timber frame structure that would be ideal for a home. The main frame is 25.5’ wide x 37.5’ long, while it has an additional 13’ wide lean-to that runs the length of the frame. It also has a 25.5’ wide x 12’ long loft on one end. The total square footage, including the loft, is around 1750 sq ft. The big feature in this frame is the massive 16” tall poplar swing beam that ties into the loft. This beam makes it possible to eliminate a center post, leaving only one center post in the main frame of the barn. This frame does not come with rafters, leaving you with the flexibility to go with whatever style of rafter you choose (we can help source those). This frame has a lot of flexibility, as lean-tos can be added on to the remaining 3 sides if more square footage is desired. The New Palestine Barn (SOLD)

Located in New Palestine, IN, this barn measures 64’ long x 46’ wide. The main frame is 64’ long x 34’ wide (with a 12’ wide lean-to). It is made up of 7 bents that contain roughly 9”x9” posts and 10”x8” tie beams - all of which are hand hewn beech beams. This barn was raised up onto concrete columns and had the center posts removed to make room for large farm equipment. If the posts are placed directly on a foundation the peak of the barn will be 26’. However, new columns can be poured to raise this barn to whatever height you would like. The purchase of this frame includes the hand hewn frame itself and the 2”x5” rafters. All beams will be pressure washed, repairs will be made and replacement parts will be added before shipment. Reconstruction can also be provided. This frame would make a beautiful home or small event venue (2944 sq ft). Please call Evan at 812-709-0066 for pricing and additional details.
